May

Trying to get through an extremely busy month, it’s getting colder and walking in the rain reminded me of my time in Reykjavik and Copenhagen.

There are some photos I forgot to post back for the February update, so they’ve been added here.

May was a busy month and mostly spent using my GFX camera. It’s a heftier camera, heavier than my X-T4, but it feels really great to hold and I’ve gotten use to it’s functionality. I’ve spent a bunch of time looking for one or two lenses for the thing that won’t make my bank account gently weep, but this is a story for another time. It’s been a decent month behind the lens, with a few photowalks and a bit of a trial within the faux studio with a series of projections I put together in Affinity Photo and then run through Keynote and an old Asus projector. Thanks to Ash for participating.

There was also a brief weekend in Melbourne for the Art Book Fair, and it was nice to get out of town. As I spent so much of last year travelling around, I was missing hopping on a plane or a coach to see another skyline.

I also learned recently that my Mamiya RB67, at least the lens, needs a repair. In an attempt to get long exposure shots working, I found the leaf shutter does not close on anything but 1/400, 1/125 and 1/60. Not exactly great. I’ve got to reach out to a few people to get it fixed, or maybe I’ll just drop a few hundy on a replacement.

Work has been driving me nuts, so I’ve been trying to finish a zine or two, along with cleaning out some junk from my place. At least this way, I’ll feel I achieved something, rather than face the usual spiral at work.

Now for the photos
