It’s cold, which I enjoy, but my hands don’t. The work project is accelerating towards its final date. This month saw me walking around with the GFX all month, since I bought a new lens, a GF30mm f3.5. I rarely buy secondhand, but it’s worked out okay so far. I’ve looking forward to working on more panos, shooting more in black and white. There was a quick trip to Sydney for the day.
I’ve got film to cut and rescan, I’ve got at least two zines to work on (one has to be finished before August). It’s moving, just slower than I like. I’ve been getting up earlier, despite the cold. There’s something about getting up before dawn and walking around as the sun rises. I finally got a clean shot of the spray can yokai. It’s in a Wilson carpark, and there’s usually a car constantly parked in front of it.
For those looking to experiment a little with their photography, get a circular polarising filter for your lens, and get a cover of a jewel CD case. When you turn the cir-pol filter, there might be some interesting effects, as certain iridescence is seen. It seems to work only with natural light (for me at least, I might have to experiment in the faux studio) and angle of the sun also plays an important part. Either way, it makes some landscape and architecture photography a little more interesting.
