July

Work has turned to shit and it’s been eating up what should be my free time. I bought some additional filters for some upcoming landscape/astrophotography work. There is a minor issue with the new 30mm GF lens and the infrared filter I bought for it. Some weird halo forms in the centre of the shot…but it’s fine if I stick it on the other lens, which it fits on, my XF23mm. The infra filter on the 45mm works fine, so it’s not a complete write off.

The end of the month (and the start of August) was the Other Worlds Zine Fair, meaning a four-day weekend in Sydney, getting film developed at Sydney Super 8 and generally getting another round of street photography down. It rained on and off throughout the day and night the entire weekend, forcing me to juggle a camera, bag, and an umbrella.

At the zine fair, Jasmine, Juniper and myself juggled a table while checking out the other tablers. For me it was an annual catch up of the regulars at the fair, and how the year has treated them. Other Worlds was busy despite, or in spite of, the weather. Apparently, the Marrickville Town Hall is up for a refurb next year, which leaves the fair in a potential limbo, if it cannot secure another venue. There also seemed to be a number of applications that did not secure a table. So either they’ll cycle around who tables one year and not the next. But it would be nice if were two days…

And now photos
