New Years floated right on by, with not much to say, but for the expectation that the shit of 2025 was done and to begin working on plans to make 2026 a year of taking a new direction. But needless horrors and greed abroad, shows low expectations. After helping out with a cosplay photoshoot, I got out of town for a long weekend as Summernats was going to turn the town into a tyre fire. But going to Sydney on some 30-plus days is also equally chaotic, just less hoons.

There’s a Ron Mueck show at ArtNSW, and if you like hyper realistic sculptures that range in scale from diminutive to huge, it can be for you too. I was less impressed with the AI Art exploration at the MCA. I walked away with “really makes you think” and nothing really positive. More promising were the other two/three things on.

I’m trying to build something new at work, which seems promising, but I gotta deliver if I’m going to prove it’s valuable and get me out of the rut I’ve found myself in for the last few years.

Trying to change direction with the photography too, but I’m more keen to push for some more studio/project stuff. I’ll have to ask around I guess.
